I have managed many substantial projects over $100,000. One of my strengths is the ability to utilize project management tools and techniques (related to engineering or software development life-cycles) for GIS projects. Experience helps me compose RFP's that are clear and direct. I can identify overoptimistic timelines (well ahead of time). Problems with projects that I have observed have to do with ambiguities in understanding or scope between client and vendor. Smaller pilot projects are great to sort these things out - experience is key to understanding when this is a good idea.
